Artikel 1 Uppgifter för klassificering av vitböcker om kryptotillgångar

Summary What does Article 1 of the RTS on crypto-asset white paper classification say?

This is a foundational article that establishes the core data requirements for classifying crypto-asset white papers.

It sets out that the required classification data is contained in the Annex, and that this data must generally be submitted in the ISO 20022 standard format.

Notably, it carves out an exception for situations where the classification data is already embedded within a crypto-asset white paper drawn up under specific articles of Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 (the MiCA regulation), in which case the data may instead be provided in whatever machine-readable format was used to prepare that white paper under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2984.

Important points:

  • Provide classification data for crypto-asset white papers in line with the requirements set out in the Annex.
  • The default format for submitting this data is the ISO 20022 standard.
  • Where classification data forms part of a MiCA white paper prepared under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2984, it may be provided in that white paper's existing machine-readable format instead.
