Artikel 2 Rapporteringsreferensdatum

Summary What does Article 2 of the ITS on non-EU currency reporting say?

This article establishes the reporting schedule that issuers must follow when submitting information to competent authorities under the reporting requirement set out in Article 22(1) of Regulation (EU) 2023/1114.

It sets a quarterly cadence with fixed calendar reference dates, and crucially defines both when the reporting obligation begins and when it ends, tying those trigger points to the issue value of the asset-referenced token crossing a threshold specified in that same Article 22(1).

Important points:

  • Submit information to competent authorities on a quarterly basis, using the reference dates of 31 March, 30 June, 30 September and 31 December.
  • Reporting obligations begin in the first quarter where the issue value of the asset-referenced token exceeds the Article 22(1) threshold.
  • Reporting obligations end after the third consecutive quarter in which the issue value of the asset-referenced token falls below that same threshold.
