Article 20 Commission support to competent authorities and critical entities

The Commission shall, where appropriate, support Member States and critical entities means a public or private entity which has been identified by a Member State in accordance with Article 6 as belonging to one of the categories set out in the third column of the table in the Annex; in complying with their obligations under this Directive. The Commission shall prepare a Union-level overview of cross-border and cross-sectoral risks means the potential for loss or disruption caused by an incident and is to be expressed as a combination of the magnitude of such loss or disruption and the likelihood of occurrence of the incident; to the provision of essential services means a service which is crucial for the maintenance of vital societal functions, economic activities, public health and safety, or the environment;, organise advisory missions as referred to in Article 13(4) and Article 18 and facilitate information exchange among Member States and experts across the Union.

The Commission shall complement Member States’ activities as referred to in Article 10 by developing best practices, guidance materials and methodologies, and cross-border training activities and exercises to test the resilience means a critical entity’s ability to prevent, protect against, respond to, resist, mitigate, absorb, accommodate and recover from an incident; of critical entities means a public or private entity which has been identified by a Member State in accordance with Article 6 as belonging to one of the categories set out in the third column of the table in the Annex;.

The Commission shall inform Member States about financial resources at Union level available to Member States for enhancing the resilience means a critical entity’s ability to prevent, protect against, respond to, resist, mitigate, absorb, accommodate and recover from an incident; of critical entities means a public or private entity which has been identified by a Member State in accordance with Article 6 as belonging to one of the categories set out in the third column of the table in the Annex;.
