Summary What does Article 2 of the ITS on competent authority information exchange say?

This article establishes the foundational infrastructure for cross-border cooperation between competent authorities under Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 (MiCA).

It sets up a contact point system, requiring each competent authority to designate a specific point of contact through which requests for cooperation and information exchange will be channelled.

This article directly underpins the procedural articles that follow, as Articles 3 through 6 all rely on these designated contact points as the primary channel for communication between authorities.

Competent authorities are required to designate a contact point for cooperation and information exchange purposes, and report its details to ESMA by 15 January 2025, updating that information as necessary.
Competent authorities must keep ESMA informed of any changes to their contact point details on an ongoing basis.
