Summary What does Article 9 of the Scientific panel of independent experts say?

This article deals with the financial compensation arrangements for experts serving on the scientific panel.

It establishes that remuneration is not automatic for all panel members, but is conditional on being appointed to a specific role — namely as a rapporteur or contributor — and only where the task has been formally requested by the AI Office.

Les experts sont rémunérés s’ils ont été nommés rapporteur ou contributeur pour accomplir des tâches du groupe scientifique conformément aux dispositions en vigueur à la Commission, lorsque le Bureau de l’IA a demandé l’exécution de ces tâches conformément à l’article 68, paragraphe 3, du règlement (UE) 2024/1689.

Les frais de déplacement et, lorsque le secrétariat le juge approprié, les frais de séjour supportés par les experts dans le cadre des activités du groupe scientifique sont remboursés par la Commission conformément aux dispositions en vigueur à la Commission.
