This article establishes the administrative backbone of the scientific panel by creating its Secretariat and defining who runs it.

The AI Office and the Joint Research Centre are jointly responsible for providing the Secretariat, which exists to support the efficient functioning of the scientific panel.

The article then sets out the core operational duties of the Secretariat, covering integrity oversight, compliance monitoring, and handling incoming requests from both market surveillance authorities and Member States.

1. Le Bureau de l’IA et le Centre commun de recherche assurent conjointement le secrétariat (ci-après dénommé «secrétariat») du groupe scientifique.
1. Le secrétariat est chargé d’apporter le soutien nécessaire au fonctionnement efficace du groupe scientifique. En particulier, le secrétariat:
  1. identifie et gère les conflits d’intérêts potentiels,
  2. contrôle le respect du règlement intérieur visé à l’article 8 et des demandes d’exécution de tâches conformément à l’article 68, paragraphe 3, du règlement (UE) 2024/1689,
  3. traite les demandes d’expertise complémentaire adressées au groupe scientifique par les autorités de surveillance du marché,
  4. traite les demandes des États membres visant à obtenir le soutien d’experts aux fins du contrôle de l’application du règlement (UE) 2024/1689 au niveau national.
