Article 2 Submission of the application for authorisation

Summary What does Article 2 of the ITS on CASP authorisation say?

This article sets out the practical requirements for submitting an application for authorisation as a crypto-asset service provider.

Building directly on Article 1, which established the contact point for receiving such applications, this article moves to the mechanics of how an application must be made.

Applicants are required to use a prescribed form (set out in the Annex) and must submit it in a way that ensures the information can be stored, accessed, and reproduced in the future.

Important points:

  • Submit your application for authorisation as a crypto-asset service provider using the specific form set out in the Annex of this Regulation.
  • Submit the application in a format that allows for storage, future accessibility, and reproduction of the information provided.
  • The obligation applies to any legal person or other undertaking seeking authorisation as a crypto-asset service provider under Article 62 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1114.
