Article 90 Amendment to Directive (EU) 2020/1828
Summary What does Article 90 of the DSA regulation say?
This is a brief housekeeping article that amends an existing piece of EU legislation — Directive (EU) 2020/1828 on representative actions for the protection of the collective interests of consumers — by adding the Digital Services Act to its list of covered Union acts in Annex I.
This means that the DSA is brought within the scope of that directive, enabling representative actions to be brought on behalf of consumers for infringements of the DSA.
Important points:
- The Digital Services Act is added to the list of Union acts covered by Directive (EU) 2020/1828 on representative actions for consumers.
- This amendment extends consumer collective redress mechanisms to cover DSA infringements.
- No direct obligations are placed on providers of intermediary services by this article itself.
